Sweet Smoky Apple Compote
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb. cored Honeycrisp apples - roughly chopped
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup MoninĀ® Monin Hickory Smoke Syrup - divided

Instructions
- To a heavy bottomed saucepot add the apples, brown sugar, 2 tablespoons of the syrup and 1/4 cup of water.
- Cover with a heavy fitting lid and heat over medium-low, stirring occasionally.
- Cook until the apples have softened but still hold their shape slightly and are golden brown in color.
- Remove from the heat and stir in the remaining 2 tablespoons of syrup.
- Cover tightly and refrigerate until use. Can be served warm or cold.
