Oak Barrel Salsa Verde

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. tomatillos, roughly chopped
  • 1/2 cup chopped Vidalia onion
  • 2 jalapeno chilis, seeded and chopped
  • 3 Tbsp. chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2 tsp. minced fresh garlic
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 3 pumps Oak Barrel Concentrated Flavor

Instructions

      1. In a sauce pot combine the tomatillos, onion, jalapeno, cilantro, garlic, oregano, salt and 1/2 cup of water and bring to a simmer over medium high heat.
      2. Simmer until the water has reduced slightly and the vegetables have softened, about 10 minutes.
      3. Remove from the heat and blend the mixture until smooth. Cool to room temperature.
      4. Stir in the oak barrel concentrated flavor and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
      5. Store in a container, cover tightly and refrigerate until use.
