Guava Bars

Ingredients

  • 16 Tbsp. butter, cubed
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup Monin Guava Puree
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 Tbsp. water
  • 1 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 8 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Glass Size: 12 bars.

Instructions

      1. Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan and preheat oven to 350°F.
      2. In a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, mix butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Then, add the remaining shortbread ingredients and mix until the dough comes together.
      3. Press the dough evenly into the baking pan. Combine the ingredients for the filling in a mixing bowl then spread evenly over the top of the shortbread dough.
      4. Combine all the topping ingredients into a food processor and pulse until the mixture becomes sandy, about 10 times. Cover the guava mix evenly then place in the oven and bake for 45 minutes.
      5. Allow to cool and serve immediately or store in a tightly sealed container at room temperature.
